Drywall consists of calcium sulphate (gypsum) and cellulose. Cellulose is an organic compound that becomes a nutrient substrate for mould spores (Aspergillus, Penicillium) once ambient humidity exceeds 65%. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the material used in LuxeSpan membranes, is an inert synthetic polymer.
