LuxeSpan architectural membranes (MSD Premium) undergo rigorous laboratory testing. We hold 7 international safety certificates confirming that the material is non-toxic and fire-safe for use in both residential and commercial spaces.
Chemical Safety and Indoor Air Quality
A+ Certification (France VOC, Eurofins): This is the highest European standard for indoor air quality. The emission scale ranges from C (high toxin release) to A+ (minimal release). Our material holds class A+: minimal total volatile organic compound (TVOC) emissions and zero emission of such highly toxic substances as formaldehyde and styrene.
REACH & RoHS (SGS): A stringent EU directive confirming the ecological purity of the polymer.
Fire Safety and Thermal Resistance
Ordinary plastic burns and releases toxic fumes. Architectural PVC has fundamentally different physical and chemical properties:
DIN 4102-1 (Class B1, Germany): The material is classified as low-flammability (Schwerentflammbar). When exposed to an open flame, it does not sustain combustion — it melts and self-extinguishes. This is the standard mandated for German hospitals and schools.
NFPA 701 (Test Method 2, USA): The highest fire-safety requirements. Self-burning time after removal of the ignition source equals 0 seconds. No flaming drips.
Certificate Comparison Table
| Certificate / Standard | Organisation | What It Guarantees |
|---|---|---|
| A+ (France VOC) | Eurofins / SGS | Minimal airborne toxin emissions (safe for allergy sufferers) |
| REACH & RoHS | SGS (Switzerland) | Absence of heavy metals, phthalates and 200+ hazardous substances |
| EN 71-3 | SGS | Element migration: full contact safety (toy safety standard) |
| DIN 4102-1 (B1) | SGS / TГњV | Low flammability (material does not propagate flame) |
| NFPA 701 | SGS | Self-extinguishing in 0 seconds, no flaming drips |
| CE (EN 14716) | ICR | Full technical compliance with EU construction product regulations |

рџ“ђ LuxeSpan Engineering Brief
According to test reports from the Swiss SGS laboratory (REACH and RoHS standards), the MSD Premium PVC material contains none of the controlled hazardous substances on the SVHC list (over 200 entries), including lead salts, mercury, hexavalent chromium and phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP). Biocompatible calcium-zinc (Ca-Zn) compounds serve as stabilisers. This guarantees that the membrane releases no volatile toxic compounds under normal operating conditions and remains stable across the working temperature range of 0 to +60 °C.
