In indoor pools, the primary threat to finishes is not water but gaseous chlorine (disinfectant fumes). Chlorine is a powerful oxidiser that destroys paint on drywall within a year and causes through-corrosion of galvanised steel profiles. The LuxeSpan system is free from these vulnerabilities: the membrane itself (PVC) is roughly half composed of bound chlorine, making it chemically tolerant to the fumes, while the supporting frame is made from extruded aluminium with deep anodising or polymer coating.
