Halogen and incandescent bulbs emit up to 85% of their energy as infrared radiation, heating localised areas to +90 °C, which accelerates plasticiser migration from the polymer and causes membrane deformation. LED modules operate at over 40% efficiency, and the aluminium profile and heatsink design directs residual heat DOWNWARD into the air-conditioned room volume. This prevents overheating of the enclosed above-ceiling void and keeps the polymer temperature safely below +45 °C.

Engineering constraints: What you must not do
