In Thailand's high-rise buildings (Riviera, Copacabana, The Base), a characteristic problem is the dynamic settlement of the monolithic reinforced-concrete frame during the first 3—5 years after handover. Rigid drywall ceilings are prone to micro-cracking at sheet joints and wall junctions due to building movement (creep and shrinkage of concrete). The PVC membrane is installed with a preset pre-tension coefficient and has no rigid structural tie to the rough ceiling slab. This makes it completely immune to any settlement deformation of the building's structural frame.
